you have to meet this beautiful lady, in order to get a proof to your doubts that you are invincible. After 4 years of constant intense pain 27/7, invasive procedures, strong medications and doctors' verdict that her conditions are forever- she did the unbelievale: cure herself totally by training her brain to feel safe. amazing genuine story. read and be inspired!

It all started at :

Everything started on May 2, 2015 in the form of a UTI.  There was no warning, it just came out of the blue. My main symptoms or diagnosis was interstitial cystitis, pgad, pudendal neuralgia, endometriosis, tarlov cysts, and pelvic congestion syndrome.

Main symptoms were:

I hit rock bottom once I realized that nothing was working and the doctors told me my condition had to be managed.  I remember one night that the pain got so bad that I was just crying for God to take me.  Fortunately I found the world of mind body medicine and shifted my mindset that I was going to beat this.

I tried these modalities but they did not cure me:

The modalities that I tried that really didn't help were diets that gave up basically everything - gluten, corn, soy, dairy, acids, caffeine, sugar...

I also tried numerous supplements along with acupuncture, chiropractic, cryotherapy, physical therapy, reiki, salt float tanks

I had nerve blocks, bladder installations, botox injections, embolization of my ovarian veins, hydrodissection injections

Numerous medications such as gabapentin, lyrica, low dose naltrexone, valium, clonopine, amitriptyline, oxycodone and morphine

Dark night of the soul:

I hit rock bottom once I realized that nothing was working and the doctors told me my condition had to be managed.  I remember one night that the pain got so bad that I was just crying for God to take me.  Fortunately I found the world of mind body medicine and shifted my mindset that I was going to beat this.

Change in the plot:

Turning point - I had a series of AHA moments.

1) meditation while I was the watcher of my symptoms.  They actually over many months changed my symptoms.  I made a meditation room for myself and when I put the room and furniture together my symptoms went down or even vanished.  My mind was busy doing something else.  2)

When I learned the steps of a dance for Caitilin my hypnotherapist.  I was doing something that took thought and I had to really pay attention to the steps.  My pain went down or disappeared.   I didn't know it but I was creating a new neural pathway

3)  I took a trip to Florida and when I was there the pain vanished.

4) During my hypnotherapy and somatic therapy sessions I could also get the pain to diminish.

I got pumped to beat TMS.  I went into the healing process with confidence, knowledge, commitment, compassion and persistence.

The doom of the past versus the glory of my present life:

I knew I was healed when my pain was gone in 2019 and I began coaching men and women with chronic pain conditions.  my pains just vanished and i was amazed by this process.

My relationship to pain:

Pain is my barometer - I did not want the pain and I wish that I never had it.  Having said that, my lifestyle is so much better now than before I went on this journey.  I am grateful for my understanding of pain and the message it brings me.  Knowing that it was here to protect me and brought positive changes to my life. I was angry at my pain in the past.  It wasn't until I knew what my brain was doing was I able to form a new relationship with my pain

How to cultivate a sense of safety?:

- 2 ways - one is in the body where I use my somatics - knowing there are sensations in our body that we don't have pain that we are not always aware of .  Leaning into positive sensations in the body can create a sense of safety along with some other somatic techniques.  The other way is talking to your brain and sending it messages of safety by having a conversation with your brain.  Tell it you know its tms. - you have nothing to worry about - brain you can calm down - i love you but i don't need to be protected anymore.  Again doing this with compassion as you would speak to a scared child and with persistence like you would train a puppy

Doing this can dial down the fear and anxiety   - you also want to respond to the brain and not react.  Bracing for the pain makes it worse.  speaking to your brain in a compassionate way is important which can help you be indifferent to it and go about your life the best as possible  - but always trying everyday to find joy

My best advice to fellow sufferers of chronic conditions:

There is a cure for chronic pain.  There is hope out there.  The most important thing to heal from chronic pain is joy.  I healed from a chronic pain condition and so can you.  The ways to reverse this is education and knowledge of why and how this is happening.  The 2nd way is to Dial down the fear.  Fear causes more pain that creates a vicious cycle of pain.  If people understand they can get better - that these nerve pathways are not trying to harm them - they can control them and stop being afraid of the symptoms..  The third is the emotional piece.  Showing your brain you're not afraid to feel your emotions through somatics, journaling and just feeling.  The brain perceives these emotions as dangerous and sends pain as a protection. The brain doesn't know the difference between a physical and emotional threat.  A threat can trigger a pain response in the brain.   The 4th is lifestyle changes - decreasing your stress level, meditation, mindfulness.  Doing all of this with confidence, compassion, and persistence.
